How To Disable/Remove Potentially Dangerous File Attachments
It's dangerous to open executable files, especially when they're from an untrusted sender.
With trimMail Inbox, it's easy to disable or remove potentially dangerous attachments before your end users have a chance to bring down your network. Here's how:
Step 1
In your trimMail Management Console, click "Dangerous Content."
Step 2
The first two text boxes on the "Dangerous Content Filtering" page allow you to list file extensions that you'd like to block or rename. In each box, list the file extensions you'd like trimMail Inbox to block/rename, separated by a pipe ("|").
Example
You're worried about your users unleashing MyDoom on your network. MyDoom spreads through attached files with the extensions ".scr" or ".pif". To block these files, simply type "scr|pif" (without the quotes) in the box labeled "Drop attachments with these extensions."
Voilá! Viruses like MyDoom would seem pretty small if every network admin installed a trimMail Inbox.
