Staff: What a difference a day makes. On Valentine’s Day we told you how the Guardian (UK) ran an article critical of Lotus Notes, followed by an article in the Razor blog (Australia) critical of Lotus Notes, followed by unappealing insults and dark mutterings of conspiracies by Lotus partisans.

After reading the two articles, which were made complete by reader comments, we frankly thought Lotus got a fair shake, and said so.

Since then, the Guardian’s Charles Arthur has followed-up with a piece consisting of carefully verified respondents (troll-filtered). He even let Head Lotus Ed Brill have top spot.

Brill’s reaction echoes our original sentiment:

I thought for a minute about dissecting the negative user comments, but Mr. Arthur has included a balance of positive and negative. This is also what we saw in The Age (Australia) discussion. I think the Guardian’s readers are well-served by the follow-up.

Finally. Hopefully, Lotusfolk are coming to realize that, on the web, a writer often just starts a story, to be finished as readers see fit.
