Staff: The latest HotWindowsLiveMail update went… poorly. After hitting “a couple of bumps” with its M6 upgrade, HotWindowsLiveMail team pulled the plug, retreating to version MD5.
On 19 May, HotWindowsLiveMail Beta Program Manager said, “This is all new stuff we’re doing so we appreciate your patience while we work the kinks out.”
By 22 May, responders to Poon, however, didn’t seem all that patient:
- Ray R: “I joined just as M6 was out and everything was flawless, then the next day I am stuck with this junk, and my signatures are gone and I use Hotmail for business ! ! !”
- Colleen: “I want out of beta mail. I can’t even read my emails … This is really annoying. Please let me know how i can go back to the old hotmail and retrieve my email.”
- Eduardo: “help me… i can’t read my email with the beta… please… help me… help me… please… help me… help me… please… help me… help me… please… help me…”
- Kristian: “I get this error when I try to sign in. Whats wrong? Sign In Access Error. Account Closed. Access Denied.”
- savickyh86: “I cannot sign into my beta account for days now. Can you please tell me what is wrong. “
- APS: “I have been a hotmail user for almost 10 years without any problems. This evening I decided to sign-up for BETA. Before signing up for Beta I was at 16% usage of my 250MB that Hotmail gave me. SOMEHOW after signing-up for Beta, not liking it, cancelling Beta, and then returning to normal Hotmail my account THEN exceeded the 250MB….how did I go from 16% to over 100% storage usage in 30 minutes??? Beta somehow screwed-up my hotmail account. PLEASE, FIX THIS!!!!”
Anyway, Poon says the Russian language version of HotWindowsLiveMail will be back soon, too.
